Installing An Engineered Floor In A Day

In the olden days, installing a hardwood floor was more than just a one day job.  However, these days there are many options that make doing a reasonable size floor in a day is a possibility.  There is a product that is becoming more popular than carpet, and something that the do it yourself lover of all skill levels can appreciate.  Engineered Floor is the new way to do hardwood.  The hardwood flooring is real wood, but engineered to be stronger, more durable, easier to install, and cheaper in many cases.  Instead of large single pieces of wood, companies like Bruce, and Hartco are using real wood and putting them under pressure to be able to resist the day to day traffic that many homes have to put up with.

One of the best things about an Engineered Floor is the fact that you are going to be able to not only put this product down by yourself if you need to, but you can rest assured that it is going to last.  IN many cases, the engineered hardwood can be resurfaced many times if need be, depending on the thickness that is purchased.  Just like traditional hardwood, Engineered Flooring comes in all kinds of wood types.  Bamboo, oak, maple, and other exotic woods are available and look incredible.

You will be blown away at how great this product looks once it is installed.  Many customers have found that the look is actually better than most of the traditional hardwood surfaces that they have had in the past.  You still have options as far as installation goes.  You can purchase an engineered wood floor that is nailed down like traditional flooring.  This is still one of the most common ways that installation occurs.  Or there is even the option of buying a floating engineered floor that locks together with the adjacent plank.  This is becoming more and more popular for the do it yourself group out there and is just as stable as the nail down method.  IN many cases the floating floor is a good idea for older homes that may still shift and move with age.

Oak wood is arguably the best choice when it comes to choosing the right wooden flooring for your home. You can be sure it will last for a very long time, considering some oak floors that were laid hundreds of years ago are still in perfect condition, and will probably remain so in centuries to come. You still have to decide whether you wish to go with solid oak or engineered oak. The main difference between the two types is in the making. While engineered flooring comprises of a thin layer of oak wood on top of a plywood base, solid flooring is on the other hand made from a single plank of wood.
